An exhibition of daring contemporary textiles, featuring 14 artists 9 Nov 2022 - 21 Jan 2023 JGM Gallery presents Creature Comforts, a group show of 14 artists working with a variety of textile mediums
Textile art today struggles to shake off its associations with being ‘twee’, ‘domestic’ and ‘feminine’. These cosy connotations, however, enable the artist to confront the viewer with difficult and unusual subject matter. Creature Comforts presents works by artists who subvert the assumptions about textiles, imbuing their work with strangeness, energy and intensity.

Incoming Tide
An exhibition of new works by the Ghost Net Collective 21 Sep - 4 Nov 2022 JGM Gallery is exhibiting Incoming Tide at its Battersea space, featuring works by Australia's cross-cultural Ghost Net Collective.
The exhibition includes sculptures of familiar sea creatures, both predators and prey. Ranging from sharks and crocodiles to rays and sardines, the sculptures are woven from the mesh of recycled fishing nets ("Ghost Nets"), which have been dumped in the ocean or set adrift in storms.
Incoming Tide follows the success of Caught in the Net (2019), JGM Gallery's first exhibition in partnership with Erub arts, a founding member of the Ghost Net Collective. Read more -
