Mawukura Jimmy Nerrimah was born far out in the Great Sandy Desert at Millingana, the traditional country for his mob (immediate and extended family and those people of the same skin group). Jimmy Nerrimah, who lived at Fitzroy Crossing, Western Australia, until his death in 2013, thought about his country and where he walked with his parents as a young boy. In this work Jimmy paints an important jila (waterhole) in the desert country.
