Luxton is inspired by the Romantic notion of the natural sublime - the human capacity of feeling when presented with raw nature. Such feelings transcends the boundaries of language and can only be gestured towards, approached obliquely. Specifically, this painting dissolves the boundary frequently drawn between the natural world that surrounds us on Earth and the natural sphere of the cosmos.
